darnellSPEAKS exists to engage, invest in, and empower student leaders to overcome obstacles and take ownership of their success.

Darnell grew up just South of Houston, Texas. Some would say that Darnell’s neighborhood was located on the wrong side of the tracks. However, he credits his neighborhood for sparking his passion for serving youth in the urban context and beyond. He began working with youth nearly 20 years ago. In addition to speaking Darnell has served youth via small group instruction, mentoring, non-profit organizations, youth ministry, and more.

Darnell possesses the ability to build rapport and earn the respect of youth from diverse backgrounds. As a speaker Darnell is able to engage, educate, motivate, inspire, and empower his audience. He deeply believes that all youth can be successful regardless of situation and circumstance.

Darnell is a proud graduate of Texas Southern University aka Harvard in the “Hood”. He is passionate about helping young people overcome obstacles, take ownership of their success, and reach their full potential.

Darnell and his wife, Deanna, reside in Dallas, TX and have three beautiful children: Delaya, Dallan, and Dara.
